Explanation of a Model for Promoting Social Responsibility of the Red Crescent Society by Emphasizing on the Participation of Relief Workers

INTRODUCTION: Since the concept of social responsibility is one of the new concepts of the current era, the Red Crescent Society is considered one of the non-governmental organizations in Iran's social system. Therefore, the current study was conducted to explain and present the model of social responsibility of the Red Crescent Society with an emphasis on the participation of relief workers. METHODS: In this study, a qualitative approach (foundation data method) was used. The sample population included experts and relief workers in the Red Crescent Society. The sampling method was purposeful and 22 people were selected based on theoretical saturation. The data collection tool was a semi-structured interview, and data analysis was conducted in three stages open, central, and selective coding. Also, the validity of the research was examined through triangulation. FINDINGS: Based on data analysis, causal factors consist of 9 main categories, 32 sub-categories and 76 primary codes; contextual factors consist of 6 main categories, 18 subcategories, and 77 primary codes; 2 main categories, 8 sub-categories and 33 primary codes for interventional factors; The strategies consist of 11 main categories, 37 sub-categories and 148 primary codes, and finally, the results consist of 9 main categories, 12 sub-categories and 52 primary codes. In general, after analyzing the data extracted from the research, a paradigm model of the social responsibility model of the Red Crescent Society was designed with an emphasis on the participation of relief workers in the qualitative stage, and a theory was extracted from the qualitative data. CONCLUSION: According to the results of the research, the social responsibility of the Red Crescent Society is not a single thing, but perhaps it can be said that it has different legal, ethical, public and national aspects and economic and social responsibilities. In addition, the participation of relief workers has a pattern of action, types of participation and methods of participation, and a pattern of participation with the Red Crescent Society, and the Red Crescent Society and its managers should pay special attention to this.
